Translation
Zi-gong came back to tell Confucius what he had heard. Confucius put his lute down and stood, exclaiming, “Could that be a sage?” He went down the hillside until he reached the lakeside. The old fisherman was hauling his boat ashore, but when he saw Confucius, he turned and came back, standing before him.
