Translation
A clam had come out to bask in the sun, and a snipe pecked at its flesh. The clam shut tight and gripped the snipe's beak. The snipe said, 'If it does not rain today, and does not rain tomorrow, there will be a dead clam.' The clam replied to the snipe, 'If you do not get out today, and do not get out tomorrow, there will be a dead snipe.' Neither was willing to let go, and a fisherman came along and caught them both together.
