Translation
There was a man of Chu crossing a river. His sword fell from the boat into the water. At once he made a notch in the boat, saying, 'This is the place from which my sword fell.' When the boat stopped, he got into the water to look for the sword at the place he had notched. But the boat had moved, while the sword had not. To seek a sword in this way, is it not foolish?
